JUMP TO

Circuit is becoming the place where teams do the work—not just ask questions. As more customers use Circuit for RFPs, CPQs, technical documentation, and cross-team collaboration, file handling has started to matter as much as chat.

This release upgrades how files are viewed, organized, and shared across Circuit. The goal: fewer “where did my file go?” moments, less re-uploading, and a cleaner foundation for agentic workflows as they get more complex.

Full-Page File Editing (Documents & Tables)

Before, opening and editing docs and tables in Circuit wasn’t as smooth as it needed to be. Files are now treated as first-class work surfaces inside Circuit.

What’s new

  • Clicking a .md file from chat now opens a full-page editor
  • Clicking a .md file from Index Sources opens it full-page, with clear navigation back
  • Right-click → Open in new tab opens the full editor in a new browser tab
  • .csv files now open as visual, editable tables instead of raw text

Real Folders Inside Indexes

We’ve added user-visible folders and folder management, modeled after familiar systems like Google Drive.

What’s new

  • Create, rename, delete, and open folders inside an Index
  • Folders are infinitely nestable
  • Imported folders retain their original structure

Manage Files Across Indexes

Admins used to have to delete and re-upload files just to change where they lived. Now you can move or copy files across Indexes and folders in a few clicks.

What’s new

  • Move a document from one index to another
  • Copy a document to one or more Indexes
  • Perform batch move/copy actions
  • Access is automatically constrained by write permissions
  • Workspace Indexes enforce Workspace-only moves for safety and clarity

As always, this release was driven directly by customer feedback. If you’re building in Circuit and have thoughts, edge cases, or ideas, we want to hear them.

Onward and upward,

Jake Salomon
